On Monday, January 16th, we celebrate the life, legacy, and impact of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. A fierce civil rights leader, Dr. King is known for his tireless efforts in the American civil rights movement. During this morning’s announcements, Principal Dr. Penikas shared a video presentation of one of Dr. King’s speeches, in which he talks about the difficulties of being a civil rights campaigner, and where he gets the strength to continue doing the work he does. In the speech, Dr. King exclaimed, “Sometimes I feel discouraged… but then the Holy Spirit revives my soul again.”
Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
