Stanner Scientists Make Finals at NYC STEM Fair!

Senior members of Molloy’s Science Research Program are required to submit their finished projects for competition. Every year, projects are submitted to the NYC STEM Fair, and this year 14 of our 17 seniors were selected to participate in the preliminary round! Of those 14, two made finals: Caitlin Trinh ‘24 and Veronica Nerone ‘24!

The NYC STEM Fair is made up of different scientific divisions, each having their own winners. Caitlin placed first in her category, Medicine and Health Sciences, with her research on baseline knowledge of women’s health! She also received the “Wonder Woman in Science Award,” which is given to a female student scientist that promotes the empowerment of women in science! Veronica placed second in her division with her research on music cognition in children, working with a mentor at NYU Langone!

Ms. Mallia, head of Science Research at Molloy, shares, “I am so proud of these two students! There were so many applicants and so many divisions, and they won!” She continues, “They won because their projects could genuinely make a difference in the world, Caitlin with young women and Veronica with children.” Congratulations to our two stellar Stanner scientists!
